April 2021 Club 15 – report

For its April event, Sandra Fogwill had organised a walk at Farnham Park. Lots of people thought this was a good venue for a sunny but fresh day and consequently it took a while to park. Dark clouds nearby threatened rain, but Michael’s mobile phone assured us that we would stay dry. We set off on our walk from the car park in just one group, soon leaving the crowds behind. We took some quiet paths near the edge of the park accompanied by springtime sounds such as singing Blackcap and Chiffchaff, and for a while followed the Nadder Stream which joins the River Wey in Farnham. At 130 hectares, the park really is huge offering distant views of some of its further reaches. We returned via the rear wall of the historic castle and its impressive moat. Thank you, Sandra, for organising this walk and arranging fine weather, fresh air and good company.
