Community Pantry, Yateley

Yateley Industries for the Disabled opened the Community Pantry with the help from Hart District Council.

We had a porta cabin donated to us so we could open and help the community.

The Pantry has now moved into a larger space at Yateley due to the increase of people needing support and is still growing. It is run by a team of volunteers and if anyone feels they would like to volunteer please let me know. It is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10am until 2pm.

The Pantry receives donations from Waitrose and Morrisons as well as purchasing supplies in order to keep the supply for food going.

The Pantry is there for anyone who is finding it difficult to buy food for their family a small form is filled in to register them as a member and they can come along once a week to get there shopping.  So far we have nearly 400 families registered.

Things that go really quickly are coffee, tea, sugar, jams, marmalade, tinned fruit, tinned meat, pasta sauces, cooking sauces, pasta biscuits, breakfast cereals, and personal hygiene products.

It is so nice to think that our church this year will be supporting them with our Harvest gifts.
