No Mow May

Plantlife have organised this campaign to encourage people not to mow their lawns for the month of May—to provide nectar for our bees and butterflies.

Bracknell Forest announced that they would not be mowing all that they normally do—and that has indeed been the case in Sandhurst.  Look at this lovely pyramidal orchid flourishing where it would normally be strimmed.

My daughter, not in Sandhurst, didn’t mow her lawn, and a Common Spotted Orchid appeared.

Why not lock up your lawnmower too? …. And you don’t actually have to mow in June, July…. if you don’t want to 🙂
