8th Annual Christian Aid Quiz 19th May 2018
Our Quiz-masters were Pam and Wilf again and a splendid job they did of getting the old grey matter working. There were 7 teams: The Baptism Remnants, Dragons and Nobles, The Lancaster Bombers, Markle and Sparkle, The Blues and Royals, Still Working On It and the SYMC Team – The Roses of Sharon!!
There were eight rounds: Entertainment, Matchmaking, Our World, Question of the Day, Where’s that? Gogglebox, Refreshments and Pot Pourri. The Roses of Sharon decided to use their Joker (you get double points in the round that you play your Joker) but this proved to be a bit of a disaster as this was probably the worst round for us!
Anyhow The Roses of Sharon came 5th out of the 7 teams, the winners being ‘Still Working On It’ with a marvellous score of 72. However there were no losers – we were all winners as we raised £168.00 for Christian Aid. The Raffle raised £49 and we had £119 left after paying out £185 on the fish, sausage and veggie burger ‘n’ chip suppers.
We had a great evening, it was fun and we are going to do it all again next year!
Thanks to Wilf and Pam for putting the quiz together and for St George’s church for setting up the church for us and then putting things back in place for the service the next day.
