Christmas dinner 2025 at The Bird in Hand

Hi everyone
Did you know that it’s only 100 days to Christmas!!!
I know! You’re probably cringing and don’t want to think about Christmas yet. However we do have to plan.
Last year we went to the Bird in Hand straight after the Christmas Carol Service and this worked really well and folk were happy to have a lunch time celebratory meal. We were even able to go home in the light.
I therefore propose we do the same and so would suggest after our Christmas Carol Service on Sunday 21st December. Actually I have reserved the date and time already!
See below for the menu. 3 courses £32 per person plus 10% service charge, 2 courses £25.95 per person plus 10% service charge. £5 deposit per person to reserve.
Please let me know if you would like to attend. It’s too early for a deposit at the moment – I’d just like to make you aware and for you to put the date in your diaries.

Starters:
Baked camembert on toasted sour dough with crispy bacon and onions
Leek and potato soup with crusty bread and butter
Crab, smoked salmon and prawn cocktail with Marie rose sauce and brown bread and butter
Chicken Liver Pate with balsamic onion marmalade and toasted Brioche

Mains:
Traditional Roast Turkey with all the Festive Trimmings
Monkfish, salmon, prawn and chorizo stew with spinach, peppers and butter beans
Spiced Moroccan lamb, couscous and toasted almonds
Roasted vegetable and pepper tart with crispy onion and breadcrumb topping

Desserts:
Homemade Christmas pudding with Brandy Sauce
A selection of Cheese and Biscuits
Salted caramel baileys filled profiteroles with a toffee sauce
Strawberry ripple parfait
