Club 15 March 2018 – quiz report

quiz

Club 15’s event in March was a quiz evening and it fell to Carol & Jim to do the organizing. Jim had been busy compiling the questions, a few easy, some tricky and others that tried to tease out useless nuggets of knowledge stored in our brains for posterity.

To be seen to be fair, the nine quizzers were randomly assigned to teams of three and battle commenced with a round on religion. Round 2 on sport played into the hands of the blokes team who emerged with a commanding lead amid protests from the other teams. Surely the balance would be restored in the following rounds with questions perfectly suited to those familiar with geography, history, the Cornish flag, music or general knowledge? Not a bit of it – the blokes remained victorious to the end, and even after a process of quantitative easing whereby the sports round was ignored, the overall result was unaffected.

At half-time we broke for some tasty refreshments and to mingle. In reality, no one cared about the scores – a good time was had by all, and our thanks go to Carol & Jim for their hard work to prepare for and host an evening full of fun and friendship.
