Good Friday outreach at The Meadows 2019 – report

Sandhurst Churches Together held a service from 12.45 to 1.30 pm at the Meadows.  We had 35 folk from all the churches represented and sung accompanied by a few members of the Sandhurst Silver Band.   We sang hymns, had some prayers and also read the text from the book ‘One Friday’.   There were posters taken from the Booklet which Pastor Pete from the Baptist Church had mounted onto boards with texts, so that folk could come and admire the outstanding artwork and read the text beneath.  We handed out a lot of these booklets to adults.  We had booklets ‘The Miracle Maker and three friends’ which were given out to the children together with sweets and various gifts of pencils, pencil sharpeners, bouncy balls, notebooks, small bible story books and stickers.   The weather was beautiful which really helped us to have a lovely day.  The stall was manned from 10 am to 3.30 pm.  Thank you to all at SYMC who held the fort in the afternoon when the Anglican churches had to return to their churches for their services.   A fantastic opportunity to witness to our community about the wonderful story of Easter and the chance for new life in Jesus.     Watch this space – we are booked for the Saturday before Christmas!  Put that in your diaries now!     Meanwhile please pray that all those gifts and booklets may just prompt the recipients and all those who witnessed us, to ask more about Jesus and want to invite him as their saviour.     Keg
