Praise and Prayer April 2018

We meet on 2nd Tuesday of the month, led by Frankie. This month we were still looking at the Easter story and had various readings and poems relating to that topic. Some were humorous and some serious, so we had a good mixture. We had Wordsworth’s poem about the daffodils, a children’s poem about Easter bunnies and eggs, which brought in the real meaning of Easter; a reading from Helen Steiner Rice, another about flowers plus a few others. Frankie closed the meeting with a reading by Peter Marshall (a Scot, who, many years ago, was chaplain to the Senate in USA) relating to Matthew’s gospel chapter 28. We had some rousing hymns, which we managed to sing really well, despite there only being 9 of us there!

Sonia was missed today; she is a regular attender, so we all signed Get Well cards for both Sonia and Ian who are both in Frimley Park Hospital. Get well both of you.

We had a few regulars missing today because of illness – hope you are all feeling better – and we look forward to seeing you next month.

We thought of many people during our time of prayer and lifted them up to the Lord.

After a cup of tea (or coffee) and biscuits, ably done by stand-ins Joan and Sandra (Diane is away in Australia at the moment), we all had a good chat (sounded as though there could have been 20 people there!!) and then Doug Wooledge took this photo of us – what a bevy of beauties I hear you say.

Thank you Frankie for leading us every month.

Do come and join us – we’d love to see you.
