Quiz in aid of Action for Children 18th October 2025 – report
Saturday 18th October 2025 at 7pm at Crowthorne Methodist Church
On Saturday 18th October there was a Quiz night held at Crowthorne Methodist Church. There were eight teams, three of those were from SYMC! A total of 14 from our church attended the quiz, which turned out to be hilarious and fun. The ‘Oxymorons’ (Wilf, Pam, Tricia and hubby) won the quiz – well done Oxymorons! ‘Sharon’s Gang’ (Rev Sharon, Graham, Mike, Margaret P, Keg and Ray) came second! We won’t mention where ‘The Latecomers’ (Lesley and Keith, Mary and Anton) came but they certainly gave it their best shot.
It was great to see such a good turnout of people, folk came from The Pines, Bracknell, Wokingham, CMC, SYMC and even the old Bagshot attendees.
There was a ploughman’s spread, you guessed it!! Provided by Maggy, Colin and Ros from CMC. Tea and coffees were on tap! Bottles of water were provided on each table with bowls of crisps and nuts.
There were 8 rounds with ten questions: Man—, Comparisons, England, on this Day, Classical Literature, Red, white and blue flags, Intro-Musicals and the 1970s.
Mike Gardner was the host, and after being playfully rude to absolutely everyone, we thanked him for such a good quiz! Thank you to Maggy, Colin and Ros too for feeding us and keeping us hydrated!
