Yes it’s that time of year again!! This means it will soon be time for the Shoe Box Appeal.
Leaflets will be in the Vestibule from the beginning of September and, as before, I will arrange for the boxes to be dedicated before I take them to High Cross for collection. The transportation donation of £5.00 per box can be paid on line if you wish.
There is one important change this year. Due to tougher import regulations there can be NO SWEETS OR TOOTHPASTE in the shoeboxes. I realise this is going to make filling the boxes more difficult but these are the instructions from Samaritans Purse.
I have flat packed pre-decorated boxes available if you can’t face wrapping a proper shoe box. I do have one or two ordinary shoe boxes available at my house. The challenge is to improve on last year’s total of 30 – can we manage it?
I know it is difficult to decide which age group to select, the age categories are 2 – 4, 5 – 9 and 10 – 14.
